An international youth football championship for ethnic minorities organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Kon Tum provincial People’s Committee began on January 12.

Seven teams with over 140 young players from ethnic minorities in Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong provinces in the Central Highlands, as well as the border province of Atapu in Laos and Rattanakiri in Cambodia , will compete for nine days at the 11,000-capacity Kon Tum Stadium.

The competition is part of activities marking the 100 th founding anniversary of Kon Tum province and reinforcing to the friendship and cooperation among the people of the Central Highlands and the two neighbouring provinces.-VNA
