The country's football governing body (VFF) elected a new vice president at its annual congress held on October 7.
Pham Van Tuan, deputy head of the Administration of Sports and Physical Exercise, has become the fourth vice president of VFF's sixth term that will end next year.
The Vietnam Professional Football (VPF) Joint Stock Company also became a member of the VFF on the day.
VPF was established last year to manage the country's two leading football competitions, the top flight championship, V-League and the second-tier First Division.
The congress discussed the reasons as well as possible solutions for financial difficulties faced by football clubs, as well as other steps that can promote sustainable development of the game in Vietnam.
Preparations for the new V-League season as well as the national teams' readiness for various competitions were also discussed.-VNA
