"For the cause of Justice" insignia presented to former Italian Ambassador to Vietnam

Former Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro has been conferred with the "For the cause of Justice" insignia from the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice in the recognition of his contributions to the development of Vietnam's justice sector.

Rome (VNA) - Former Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro has been conferred with the "For the cause of Justice" insignia from the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice in the recognition of his contributions to the development of Vietnam's justice sector.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Duong Hai Hung handed over the insignia to the former ambassador at a ceremony on December 20.

During his tenure in Vietnam from November 2018 to the end of 2023, Alessandro made contributions to cooperation activities between the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and various Italian partners, particularly in promoting the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation signed between the justice ministries of Vietnam and Italy on October 27, 2016, Hung said. Ambassador Alessandro supported the organisation of a delegation led by Deputy Justice Minister Phan Chi Hieu's visit to Italy in late October 2022, as well as many delegations from the ministry in areas such as international adoption, legal assistance, and participation in international conferences on criminal justice, and the annual conference of the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO).

Additionally, Alessandro assisted in cooperation activities in education and training between Hanoi Law University and various educational institutions in Italy, Hung added.

Ambassador Alessandro expressed his honour to receive the insignia, and said he firmly believes that the Italy-Vietnam relationship will keep growing.

He took the occasion to thank the Ministry of Justice and competent Vietnamese agencies for their effective support and cooperation during his tenure in Vietnam.

He affirmed his commitment to continuing to do his best to enhance the relationship between the two countries./.
