The third International Choir Competition opened in central Hoi An town on June 19, gathering 15 choirs from the US, Germany, Taiwan, Australia, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Indonesia has sent seven teams to the competition while the host is represented by three groups of singers.

Tran Minh Ca, deputy chairman of the Quang Nam Province People's Committee said he hopes to build friendship between nations and people through musical exchanges.

The two-day competition’s results will be announced on June 22 by a panel of international experts.

The teams will also hold two performances on the streets of Hoi An for the public.-VNA
