Foreign companies assist poor households

Three foreign oil companies will co-sponsor the building of houses and provide loans to 46 poor households in the Mekong delta province of Kien Giang at a total cost of 470 million VND.

An agreement to the effect was signed in Hanoi on July 22 by the Chevron Corporation of the US , the Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. of Japan and the PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) and the Habitat for Humanity Vietnam

Addressing the signing ceremony, President of Chevron Vietnam Ltd. Hank Tomlinson said that the programme is expected to help improve the living conditions of the project’s beneficiaries.

The three companies are involved in a gas supply project in the Mekong delta./.
