Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has asked the Ministry of Health to consider administering COVID-19 vaccines to foreign experts in Vietnam, according to a notice of the Government’s Office.

The Deputy PM made the request on the basis of the business community’s proposals that have been collected by the Private Economic Development Research Board under the Advisory Council for Administrative Procedure Reform, aiming to deal with difficulties facing enterprises in the face of COVID-19.

Ministries, cities and provinces should report obstacles to the implementation work to the Prime Minister, he said.

According to the board, businesses proposed the Government extend the priority list in the national vaccine rollout to foreign experts who are in charge of business activities of firms and foreign countries in Vietnam.

The experts have travelled frequently and faced a high risk of infections. However, they haven’t been inoculated in their respective countries as they are living and working in Vietnam.

The initiative is expected to contribute to COVID-19 prevention and control, while promoting investment and trade in the country./.
