Foreign firms invest in large Buddhist complex

Investors from China , Hong Kong and the United States have joined hands with the ATS Investment Joint Stock Company to build a spiritual tourism complex in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
Investors from China , Hong Kong and the United States have joined hands with the ATS Investment Joint Stock Company to build a spiritual tourism complex in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

Under a contract signed with the local company in Hanoi , the foreign firms will pour a combined 500 million USD into the religious project in Yen Tu, a famous beauty spot in Uong Bi township, and several other projects the ATS is carrying out.

The 700-hectare complex, to be named Sen Viet, reportedly has a unique architecture, incorporating the national traditional culture and the fine values of Vietnamese Buddhism. It will include an international conference centre, a market for farm produce, a traditional craft village, a park, a section to display ancient artefacts and a stage for cultural performances.

The 136.8-million-USD project is expected to be completed by 2015./.
