Party, State and National Assembly senior officials on August 30 received foreign delegations who are in Vietnam to attend a programme entitled “Meeting International Friends”, an activity to mark the 65th National Day.

While meeting with the Lao delegation, led by Major-General Phouvong Vongphom, Deputy Head of the Lao Defence Ministry’s General Department of Logistics and a member of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association Executive Board, NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong said that Laos’ revolutionary cause received Vietnam’s support and vice versa, Vietnam’s revolutionary cause got wholehearted assistance from Laos .

The special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos has been incessantly fostered and developed during each country’s national construction and defence in the past as well as at present, she noted.

At the reception for the Cambodian delegation, the NA Vice Chairwoman affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to strengthening and expanding the friendship and cooperation with Cambodia.

Minkhin, Minister of Cults and Religions and Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the Solidarity Front for Development of the Cambodian Motherland, stated that the Cambodian people are always grateful for the strong support, both material and spiritual, from the Vietnamese people during the struggle against the Pol Pot regime in the past as well as in the current national construction and development.

He expressed his wish that the two peoples will continue boosting their solidarity, cooperation and assistance for mutual development.

On the same day, Truong Tan Sang, a Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Secretariat, received a delegation of former Chinese experts who rendered services in Vietnam during its wars against the French colonialists and the US imperialists.

Sang affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always treasures the great and effective support of the Chinese Party and Government as well as Chinese experts’ valuable contributions to the Vietnamese people’s revolutionary cause.

He stressed that Vietnam is ready to try its best together with China to further develop their comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefits of the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.

Later in the day, Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the CPVCC’s External Relations Commission, welcomed a delegation of Russian friends led by Honorary President of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association (RVFA) E. Pavlovich.

Quan expressed his thanks for the Russian people’s great support and assistance to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause and he spoke highly of the positive and practical results of recent friendship activities conducted by the RVFA and other Russian mass organisations.

He said he wished the RVFA would continue acting as a bridge for the friendship between the two peoples./.
