More than 200 foreign businesses from 15 countries and territories worldwide will flock to the 2010 Vietnam Telecomp/Electronics-Internet & IT exhibition, scheduled to be held in Ho Chi Minh City from Nov. 17-20.
The large number of foreign businesses to be represented at the largest-scaled and the most prestigious IT display in Vietnam shows the country as one of the world’s attractive telecom and information technology markets.
Representatives of Vietnam include giant businesses in the field, such as the leading mobile phone service providers -VinaPhone and MobiFone, the Vietnam Data Communication Company (VDC) and the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT).
During the four-day event, besides the display of the latest products in the field, foreign and local experts will share experiences and put forth solutions to develop products and markets and seek partners for small and medium-scaled businesses, particularly newcomers.

Bui Quoc Viet, Director of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group (VNPT)’s Information and Public Relations Centre, said the event provides foreign investors an opportunity to study Vietnam ’s IT market before making their investment decisions.
Also according to Viet , Vietnam has advantages in developing the IT, telecom industry as it boasts a sustainable GDP growth, great potential in FDI attraction and young population. Especially, Viet added, the Government has approved a strategy to develop the industry for the 2010-2020 period.
The 8.5 billion USD strategy aims to turn Vietnam into a strong IT country by 2020./.
