A large street festival was held on the pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on July 29 to mark 10 years of administrative boundary adjustment of the capital city.

The event themed The Quintessence of Hanoi – Converging and Shining drew 5,000 artists and audiences, who joined seven performance groups featuring folk arts, trade villages, the elderly, the youth, contemporary arts, and sports.

It aims to honour trade villages, traditional and historical values of Hanoi.

The festival also created an atmosphere among Hanoians and visitors to the capital.

The festival features numerous performances, including folk dance like traditional dragon and lion dances. The street carnival style dance was also among the highlights of the festival.

The event was jointly organised by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Centre for Preservation and Development of Vietnamese Theatre Arts.-VNA
