The Ministry of Public Security on May 19 initiated legal proceeding against and ordered the arrest of Duong Chi Dung, head of Vietnam Maritime Administration, who is also the former chairman of Vinalines Container Shipping Company.
Investigation will be conducted into Dung’s alleged charge of intentionally violating State regulations on economic management that causes severe consequences.
Other executives also arrested were Mai Van Phuc, former Vinalines general manager, and Tran Huu Chieu, former deputy general manager of Vinalines.
Dung was not present at his residence or workplace at the time of the arrest. The investigation continues.-VNA
