The French Embassy in Vietnam and the Hue Central Hospital are jointly organising a refresher course on cancer surgery for doctors and surgeons in 20 central and Central Highlands provinces.

The two-day course, which concludes on March 5, is part of cooperation between the hospital and France’s medical universities, aiming to select outstanding trainees for resident programmes at French hospitals.

During the course, more than 40 trainees are provided with updated knowledge on cancer and digestive diseases.

They learn a cancer treatment model in France as well as the application of the model in other countries.

They also had a chance to practice endoscopic surgery in treating colorectal and esophageal cancers on both models and patients.

Since 2000, the Hue Central Hospital has treated about 1,000 patients from regional provinces.-VNA
