The French Development Agency (AFD) has pledged to provide 359 million USD in grant and concessionary loan to assist Cambodia ’s three main sectors for the 2014-2016 period, reported the Cambodian news agency AKP.

This was made known in Phnom Penh on January 22 during a meeting between Cambodian Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Porn Moniroth and visiting Director of the AFD for Asia Department Gregory Clemente, according to an official of the ministry.

Of the total, 14 million USD comes as grant, 160 million as concessionary loan, and 180 million USD as interest-free loan, he said.

The above-said assistance will be used for the development of three key domains including agriculture, physical infrastructure and vocational training, added the official.

The minister highly valued the cooperation between Cambodia and France, and vowed to continue to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation in all sectors. He also thanked France for its assistance to socio-economic development in Cambodia.-VNA
