Free air tickets, accommodation offered to summit covering reporters

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and the Vinpearl resort company have announced they will provide free air tickets and hotel accommodation for journalists, both Vietnamese and foreign, covering the ongoing DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and the Vinpearl resortcompany have announced they will provide free air tickets and hotelaccommodation for journalists, both Vietnamese and foreign, covering the ongoingDPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam.

Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines, Vinpearl and theVietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will offer to each reportereither a free domestic air ticket of Vietnam Airlines and a two-nightaccommodation at Vinpearl’s five-star resorts in Hoi An, Phu Quoc and NhaTrang; or just free domestic air tickets.

Beneficiaries are all reporters holding event cards issued bythe Foreign Ministry’s Information-Press Department.

TheVNAT hopes that by inviting reporters from hundreds of nations and territoriesaround the world to come and experience Vietnam’s best aviation service andfive-star resorts, as well as see with their own eyes Vietnam’s land andpeople, it will help make a profound contribution to promote tourism.

Earlier, the Vietnam Railways said it provides free traintickets for foreign journalists who registered to cover the DPRK-USA HanoiSummit Vietnam.

The VNAT launched free tours for foreign reporters whichinclude the Hanoi city tour and trips to Café Hanoi, Bat Trang ceramicsvillage, and UNESCO world heritage site Ha Long Bay arranged by the prestigioustravel companies Hanoitourist and Saigontourist.

Similarly, the Hanoi Transport Management and OperationCentre requested local bus operators to offer free transport between February25 and March 2 to domestic and foreign reporters covering the summit.

According to the Ministry of Information andCommunications, there are about 3,000 foreign journalists of over 200international agencies from 40 nations and territories worldwide, as well ascrowds of local reporters covering the summit.

The second DPRK-USA Summit is considered an important political andexternal event of Vietnam in 2019, manifesting its foreign policy of “Vietnamis a friend and reliable partner of the international community.”-VNA
