A delegation of seven French firms involved in building ships will visit Vietnam from June 20-23 to study the Vietnamese market.

Their business trip is organised by the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE – French Embassy and supported by the French Naval Industries Group, GICAN.

The visit will take place in a context when Vietnam ’s leading shipbuilder, VINASHIN, is being restructured to realise a plan of making Vietnam one of the leading global players in this sector by 2020.

This mission looks to strengthen the links between French entities and companies and their Vietnamese counterparts for forging sustainable partnerships in commercial, industrial or technological areas, and enhancing the French support to the development of this sector.

The French participants will be introduced to the major public and private local shipyards as well as the foreign ones already established in Vietnam during the trip, which will encompass meetings in Hanoi , the northern province of Nam Dinh, the northern city of Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City .

They are expected to submit to Vietnamese players and policy makers advanced technologies, equipment and services, engineering design and ship production process technologies./.
