A lane dedicated to buses in Hanoi’s Yen Phu street was open to traffic on June 30, contributing to easing congestions and ensuring safety for passengers.

The 1.6km-long and 7.5m-wide lane is part of a project on improving public transport in Hanoi funded by France’s Ile de France region.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Transport Department Nguyen Hoang Linh, the commissioning of the lane marks a new development in the friendship and cooperation between Hanoi and the Ile de France region.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung said that within the framework of their cooperation agreement, the two sides agreed to share experience in urban planning and management as well as the management of urban services.

The transport department was assigned to build one more bus interchange in Hoang Quoc Viet street and implement several transport projects within the Vietnam-France partnership.-VNA
