Bac Ninh (VNA) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien on December 16 extended best Christmas wishes to priests, dignitaries and the Catholic community in the Diocese of Bac Ninh.
The Front leader praised the contributions of the religious community and local authorities across all fields, particularly in COVID-19 prevention and control in 2021.

He hoped the Party’s policy and the State’s law will continue to be disseminated among the Catholic community and requested the upcoming Xmas celebration is held merrily and safely in line with the Government’s regulations on flexible and safe adaptation to and effective control of the pandemic.

Increasing involvement of the community in charity activities is also important, Chien noted.

For his part, Bishop Cosmas Hoang Van Dat of the Bac Ninh Diocese vowed to continue calling on Catholic dignitaries and followers to respect the law and policies of the Party and State, fulfill their duties as a citizen, and accompany local authorities in the socio-economic development process.

After visiting the diocese, Chien had a working session with leaders of the province, during which he lauded Bac Ninh’s achievements so far this year. The official wished the province will sustain its socio-economic growth and ensure social welfares, and facilitate operations of the VFF and other socio-political organisations.

He also highlighted that the church has actively participated in environmental protection activities, and led its followers in implementing the Party’s policies and guidelines and the State’s law, contributing to national stability and development.

Chien asked the church to hold a warm and joyful Christmas festival while ensuring pandemic prevention in line with the Government’s direction on safely and flexibly adapting to and effectively containing COVID-19.

Pastor Mac, on behalf of the church, thanked the Party, the State and the VFF Central Committee for creating favourable conditions for the church to develop. He pledged that the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) will continue to follow the motto of “Serving God, the Fatherland and the Nation", and actively respond to patriotic emulation campaigns to contribute more to national construction and defence./.
