Front strengthens ties with UN organisations

A leader from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) has asked UN organisations in Vietnam to continue stepping up cooperation with the Vietnamese Government and the VFF in every field.
A leader from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) has asked UNorganisations in Vietnam to continue stepping up cooperation withthe Vietnamese Government and the VFF in every field.

The President of the VFF’s Central Committee, Huynh Dam, stated thiswhile receiving the UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam , PratibhaMehta, in Hanoi on August 1.

At the reception,Dam thanked the UN organisations in Vietnam for their support duringVietnam ’s development in general and its poverty reduction effortsin particular.

Over the past few years, Vietnamand the UN have recorded many joint successes, including projects onhealth, poverty reduction and environmental protection, he said.

He stressed that the Vietnamese Party, State and Fatherland Fronthave made a lot of efforts to overcome many problems, speed up economicdevelopment, ensure social welfare and have tried to make sure thatpeople have happy and prosperous lives, especially the poor anddisadvantaged.

Over the past 10 years, the VFF hasmobilised many organisations and individuals both inside and outsidethe country to join hands and build over 1.2 million houses for the poorwhile generating jobs, educational opportunities, health care andtreatment for millions of others.

Mehta praised the role the VFF has played, as well as its effective and dynamic activities in uniting the people.

Shesaid that she hoped in the future, UN organisations in Vietnam and theVFF will continue to step up their joint initiatives, especially inpoverty reduction, economic development and improving health andeducation services.-VNA

Memorial service held for 93 fallen soldiers in Tuyen Quang province

More than 4,000 officers and soldiers laid down their lives on the northern border, particularly at the Vi Xuyen–Ha Tuyen front in Tuyen Quang province. In the latest search and recovery operation, competent forces found 93 sets of remains of fallen soldiers in Thanh Thuy and Minh Tan communes and Binh Thuan ward, including 18 found individually and 75 in six mass graves.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, who is deputy head of the Central Steering Committee for the 2026–2035 national target programme on cultural and socio-economic development, rural development, and development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, said the conference aims to accelerate implementation, deliver more visible improvements and ensure substantive results under the guiding principle of clearly defining policies, geographical areas and beneficiaries.

NA President tours revolutionary sites in China’s Shaanxi

NA President Man and his delegation travelled to Yan’an by high-speed train. The city is regarded as the cradle of China’s revolution and a symbol of resilience, solidarity and self-reliance.
