The 20th International Conference on The Future of Asia opened in Tokyo on May 22 with the participation of many heads of government, top business executives and scholars.

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended the two-day event.

Themed “Rising Asia – Messages for The Next 20 years”, the conference discussed the path ahead with the hope of sending out messages that will inspire the region's future leaders. Participants dealt with tensions in East Asia along with measures to promote development in Asia.

Since its inauguration in 1995, The Future of Asia has come to be recognised as one of the foremost international conferences in the region.-VNA
