A music festival entitled “ Vietnam, my homeland” will be held in Hanoi on Nov. 22-24 to welcome the first conference of overseas Vietnamese.

Taking part in the festival will be various popular domestic and overseas Vietnamese musicians and singers.

At a press briefing in Hanoi on Nov. 17, Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Foreign Minister (FM) and Chairman of the State’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, said that the event aims to promote Vietnam’s culture and its art, as well as contribute to enhancing the solidarity of Vietnamese artists overseas with local people.

The concert on each night will feature performances by well-known overseas artists like composer Nguyen Thien Dao from France, conductor Le Phi Phi from Macedonia, pianist Ton Nu Thi Ninh from Germany and singers Le Thu, Huong Lan, Phi Nhung and Jimmy Nguyen, as well as domestic artists such as Quang Tho, Thanh Lam, My Linh, Trong Tan, Lan Anh, My Tam, Ho Quynh Huong and Tung Duong.

The Deputy FM said that the money from ticket sales at the festival will be donated to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and the State Committee’s fund for Overseas Vietnamese./.
