Gathering celebrates Bulgaria’s National Day

The Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association hosted a get-together in Hanoi on March 3 to mark Bulgaria’s 132nd National Day (Mar. 3) and 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations (Feb. 8).

The function drew the participation of President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong and Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam Georgi Vassilev as well as a large number of Vietnamese alumni in Bulgaria and Bulgarian people who are working and studying in Vietnam .

Vice President of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association Nguyen Van Tuan congratulated the Bulgarian people on their achievements in politics, culture, science, technology and education.

Tuan noted with pleasure that friendly and cooperative relations between the two nations have been strengthened and expanded in various fields in recent years, adding that their senior leaders have regularly exchanged visits.

Practical activities celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties this year will help deepen the time-honoured friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria , he said.

Ambassador Georgi Vassilev said he hoped that with the concerted efforts of the governments and peoples of the two countries, bilateral relations would continue to develop, resulting in great practical benefits for both./.
