Hanoi (VNA) – Nguyen Van Binh, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Economic Commission, has commended Russian gas group Gazprom for its contributions to Vietnam-Russia cooperative ties, especially in the energy sector.

Receiving Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom in Hanoi on March 14, Binh described energy collaboration as an important pillar of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.

He lauded the group for its effective implementation of signed contracts, as well as its increased cooperation activities in Vietnam.

Vietnam will create the best possible conditions for Russian businesses, including Gazprom, to operate in the country, he said, expressing his belief that joint cooperation projects will bear fruits as expected, bringing economic benefits to both nations.

For his part, Markelov hailed the socio-economic achievements Vietnam has reaped over the years and expressed his delight at new cooperative attainments of the two countries.

He used the occasion to thank Vietnam for facilitating Gazprom’s operations, contributing to the host country’s development.

Markelov hoped for long-term and effective cooperation between Gazprom and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), thus contributing to developing Vietnam-Russia friendship and cooperation.–VNA
