The export turnover of gems and precious metals hit 1.1 billion USD last month, with Vietnam’s trade surplus generating almost 850 million USD, according to the General Department of Customs.

During the past seven months, export turnover of these commodities reached 2.32 billion USD, an increase of 51.6 percent compared to same period last year.

The import value also rose by 38.9 percent, valued at 452 million USD.

During the same period, Vietnam’s trade surplus peaked at 1.87 billion USD./.
