President of the Germany-Vietnam Friendship Association Prof. Guenter Giesenfeld presented more than 100 black and white photos and dozens of pictures of Vietnamese children to Minister Counsellor Bui Manh Cuong in Marburg city, Germany , on Nov. 11.

The photos on Vietnamese students after national reunification were taken by German stage director and photographer Vasco Filipov while he visited Vietnam during the 1975-1980 period.

Additionally, Filipov also kept dozens of Vietnamese children’s colour paintings that were exhibited both in Germany and Vietnam as well as Germany ’s articles on the event.

Giesenfeld said that Filipov, who was suffering from Parkinson’s disease, asked him to send these objects to Vietnam .

Cuong thanked Giesenfeld and Filipov for their warm feelings towards Vietnam and promised to send these objects to the homeland as soon as possible.

Giesenfeld, who has visited Vietnam several times and was awarded Vietnam ’s Friendship Order in 1989, is a writer of many books on Vietnam . He also translated a number of poems and literature works from Vietnamese into German./.
