German pledges 300 mln EUR for Vietnam

The German government has pledged to provide Vietnam with 300 million EUR to support the country's development over the next two years.

The German Embassy in Hanoi said this is theresult negotiations on development cooperation between the twocountries’ governments that concluded in Germany on October 26.

Of the total, 15 million EUR funded by the German Federal Ministry forthe Environment will be allocated to environmental protectionprogrammes.

According to Gudrun Kopp, ParliamentaryState Secretary at the Germany ’s Federal Ministry of EconomicDevelopment and Cooperation, the German government will continue toassist Vietnam in vocational training, law enforcement,administrative reform, anti-corruption activities and environmentalprotection./.

Search efforts continue for Vietnamese fallen soldiers in Cambodia
