Representatives from the German state of Hessen on May 13 presented scholarships to ethnic minority students in the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien.

The 25 selected have all received remarkable academic results from the Economic and Technical Junior College and the Boarding High School for Ethnic Students in Dien Bien.

Bui Cong Tho, Chief Representative of the Hessen State Office in Hanoi, said that students with scholarships will receive more assistance when they study at a higher level in either Vietnam or Germany.

Supported by Hessen’s Ministry of Science and the Arts and the World University Service of Germany (WUS), the accolade is a result of cooperation between the Vietnamese Government’s Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs and the two German partners.-VNA
