Seven young Vietnamese managers have been equipped with knowledge about climate change and green jobs after graduating from a ten-month training course organised by the German International Cooperation organisation (GIZ).
They, together with 12 others from Indonesia and Laos, received certificates at a ceremony in Berlin on November 15.
The course, which was designed under the International Leadership Training (ILT) programme, provided the trainees with leadership skills and information about the linkage between climate change and green growth strategy and changes in personnel training.
During the course, the members had the opportunity to work with experts from enterprises and training centres in Germany and the Republic of Korea, where the ILT programme was held.
Now the course has been completed, they are scheduled to continue engaging in related projects with the support of their colleagues and foreign experts.
The seven Vietnamese students come from the General Department of Vocational Training under the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, training centres and enterprises in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
As a governmental organisation, GIZ was formed in 2011 through the merger of the German Organisation for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), the German Development Service (DED) and Capacity Building International (Inwent). It focuses on international cooperation towards sustainable development.
Over the past two decades, GIZ has helped Vietnam in such fields as vocational training, sustainable economic development, environment and health care.-VNA
