More than 800 Vietnamese students studying in the Republic of Korea (RoK) gathered in Seoul on Sept. 27 for an annual meeting held by the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK and the Vietnamese students’ Association.

The fifth get-together, the largest of its kind in the RoK, also drew representatives from relevant Vietnamese agencies, the RoK-Vietnam Friendship Association, and the RoK’s Vietnamese studies scholars.

Addressing the function, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Tien Van stressed the role of Vietnamese students for future national construction and development.

He hailed achievements the Vietnamese students gained in the study as well as the development of the Vietnamese students’ Association in the RoK.

The Association has launched social and humanitarian activities to promote the image of the land and people of Vietnam, helped the Korean-Vietnamese families to play a role as a bridge for enhancing friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries’ people.

Chairman of the Hanshin construction group Choi Yong-soon, the major sponsor for the function, expressed his wish that the event is a real festival for Vietnamese students and required to set up an association for those who studied in the RoK to share information on studying field.

More than 3,000 Vietnamese students are studying at universities and institutes in the RoK./.
