Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) - Leaders of the Border Guard Command of central Thua Thien-Hue province presented food and necessities to armed forces and residents in the Lao provinces of Salavan and Sekong at the A Dot - Ta Vang and Hong Van - Co Tai border gates on September 23.

Commander Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hoa handed over 225 gifts, including more than 2.5 tonnes of rice, 500 masks, and 30 boxes of noodles worth nearly 50 million VND (2,100 USD) in total.

Ties between Thua Thien-Hue in general and the provincial Border Guard in particular with border guards in Sekong and Salavan provinces and other Lao localities have been deepened via information sharing, joint patrols, and the effective fighting against crime, contributing to improving the COVID-19 fight and protecting border areas.

Border stations along the Vietnam-Laos border line together with A Luoi authorities have held a number of visits and presented gifts to armed forces and residents from Lao localities, further tightening solidarity between border guards and peoples in the two nations./.
