Global Forest & Trade Network expands in Vietnam

The Global Forest & Trade Network in Vietnam (GFTN-Vietnam) has admitted a new member, Adis Pte Ltd., a retailer in wooden furniture headquartered in Singapore and operating in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Global Forest & Trade Network in Vietnam (GFTN-Vietnam) has admitted anew member, Adis Pte Ltd., a retailer in wooden furniture headquartered inSingapore and operating in Ho Chi Minh City.

This expands theGFTN-Vietnam membership to 11--10 processors-exporters and one forestowner--earning some 250 million USD in annual export revenues.

GFTN isoperating in 34 nations, including Vietnam-a regional leader in the woodprocessing industry.

The GFTN was established under an initiative by theWorld-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to control illegal logging and trafficking aswell as to protect forests of economic and ecological value around the worldfrom the threat of destruction.

To be eligible, potential members mustcommit to a five-year action plan with concrete steps and timetables togradually reduce and finally eliminate material resources of unknown originwhile gradually increasing the rates of legal materials of definite origins withcertificates issued by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)./.

Australia announces import conditions for Vietnamese pomelos

First “green lane” durian shipment exported to China

​Under the “green lane” process, quality control begins at the cultivation stage, including soil sampling and monitoring, and continues through harvesting and processing, with traceability labels attached to trees and applied to fruit at the time of picking. It also allows plant quarantine procedures and the issuance of certificates of origin (C/O) directly in the localities where the orchards are located.

Vietnam pushes for deeper auto supply chain ties with RoK

The RoK stood as Vietnam’s largest foreign investor with more than 95.2 billion USD in registered capital as of February 2026, or about 18% of all foreign cash flowing in, with thousands of active projects. Speaking at the opening of the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2026 in Hanoi on April 10, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong noted that despite challenges in 2025, Vietnam largely fulfilled its socio-economic development goals.
