A monthly global television programme named “ASEAN today” will debut on Oct. 30 in Indonesia , a press statement from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat said on Oct. 26.

The 30-minute programme is designed to introduce about the country, people and today life in ten member countries of ASEAN, which has existed 40 years and has been asserting its role in the region and the world.

It is produced by Metro TV, Indonesia 's first 24-hour news channel, in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Secretariat of Indonesia, Indonesia 's Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and airline sponsor AirAsia.

The first programme looks at the preparations underway for the 19 th ASEAN Summit in Bali , Indonesia, scheduled for Nov. 17, along with an interview with the ASEAN Secretary-General, Surin Pitsuwan. The coffee industry in Laos, Vietnam ’s traditional music and the world's best dive spot in eastern Indonesia are also featured./.
