Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho recently signed a decision to renew the business licence to Globaltrans Air to operate as a general aviation service provider in domestic and international markets.

The licence has been renewed following a report of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to the ministry on the verification of Globaltrans Air’s documents, saying the company met all the necessary requirements to operate as a general aviation service provider.

The Transport Ministry granted a general aviation business licence to Globaltrans Air in April 2015. However, Article 12 of Decree No. 92/2016/ND-CP stipulates that a general aviation business licence is cancelled if the provider does not begin its service or receive the air operator’s certificate (AOC) in 18 months after the licence’s issue date.

The company was established in July 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City with charter capital of 100 billion VND (4.4 million USD).

According to CAAV, Vietnam currently has three businesses operating in the general aviation industry, including the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, the Vietnam Air Service Company (VASCO) and Hai Au Aviation JSC.

General aviation is defined as civil aviation operations other than traditional scheduled air services. It covers a large number of aviation activities, for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, including flying clubs, rescue, leisure and agricultural aviation.-VNA
