The Government has completed the 12th tenure, basically fulfilling tasks assigned by the Party, State and people, said the Government Spokesman Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The spokesman made the affirmation at a press briefing on July 24 after the government’s July regular meeting, the last of the Government of the 12th tenure.

Phuc stated that over the past tenure, the government faced many challenges from the impacts of the global economic crisis, high inflation in regional and world economies, as well as natural disasters and epidemics in the country.

With a high sense of responsibility, the Government built and implemented an efficient working regulation and worked in the spirit of solidarity and unanimity to carry out its mission.

He stressed that the achievements were markedly attributable to the mass media agencies, which closely coordinated to disseminate information on the government’s management.

Phuc further said that despite those results, some functions and tasks of ministries and sectors were not effective. He cited situation forecast, macro economy management, land management, coping with climate change and administrative reform as among those fields that have not met the requirements.

The Government spokesman also informed that the draft proposal on the government of the 13th tenure has been completed to the National Assembly to consider./.
