People who are studying and researching atomic energy will receive full support and incentives from the Government following the Prime Minister's Decree 124/2013 dated October 14. Accordingly, Vietnamese nationals who are studying, researching and working in atomic energy will be offered free tuition, accommodation, and cost of living support. They will also receive support for overseas study and research. Currently, there are six educational institutions training human resources specialising in atomic energy in Vietnam together with about 800 officers working in the atomic energy field. Director of Investment Programs at the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) S. A. Boyarkin has said that to construct and operate Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant, the first of its kind in Vietnam, it is necessary to have about 1,500 people, including 300 workers, 700 engineers, 300 employees in the monitoring units, experts from the Electricity of Vietnam, and staff from relevant ministries and departments. To support Vietnam in the preparation of human resources, the Russian government will train about 100 Vietnamese students every year at universities specialising in nuclear power in the fields of operation, construction and supervision. In addition, Vietnamese experts from ministries, departments, research institutes and universities will be supported to participate in training courses at experimental centres in Russia. In the next 10 years, Vietnam will surely have enough human resources to operate the plant.-VNA
