Government supports building of flood-proof houses
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has signed a decision supporting the
construction of flood-resistant houses for poor households in the
central region.

Each poor family will receive some 12 million VND (571 USD) to be paid from the central and local budget for house building under Decision No.48/2014/QD-TTg signed on August 28.
Meanwhile, poverty-stricken families in the poorest areas covered by the Prime Minister’s Decision No.1049/QD-TTg issued on June 26 will get aid in cash ranging from 14-16 million VND from the central budget.
The policy will come into force from October 15 and be carried out between 2014 and 2016, benefiting thousands of households in the 14 central provinces and cities.
The central region is prone to natural disasters. Last year, the region experienced losses of 28 trillion VND (1.3 billion USD) due to storms and floods.-VNA
