The European Commission has recently approved the selection of 35 Vietnamese graduates who will receive Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the academic year 2011-2012.

In total, 31 students have been awarded a scholarship of maximum 48,000 Euro for attending university courses in the EU and 4 selected scholars will receive a fellowship of 129,900 EUR for a maximum period of a 3 years in Europe .

Each of the selected students can attend one of 123 Master Degree Courses covering a wide range of disciplines such as Astrophysics, Informatics and Media Technology, Advanced Robotics, Special and Inclusive Education and many others. They will study in one of the 27 EU Member States, giving them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with European lifestyles, cultures and languages.

In addition, for the year 2011-2012, A Vietnamese Institution - the National Institute of Animal Science in Hanoi in association with Wageningen University (the Netherlands ) was selected to organise an Erasmus Mundus Master Course on Sustainable Animal Nutrition and Feeding.

Since 2004, almost 260 Vietnamese students and scholars have been awarded Erasmus Mundus scholarships. Moreover, hundreds of scholarships to study in Europe are offered by European Member States to Vietnamese students on an annual basis./.
