Grandmaster to attend Aeroflot champs in Russia

Vietnamese chess grandmaster Le Quang Liem will take part in Aeroflot Open 2013 scheduled for February 12-17 in Russia.

Liem will leave for Russia on February 9 after he finishes the Gibraltar championship.

He will complete with eight other players invited by the organisers in the qualifying round to earn a berth in the finals.

This year’s tournament will feature rapid and blitz chesscompetitions. The champion for the rapid event will pocket 72,000 USDwhile 10,000 USD will go to the blitz’s winner.-VNA
