The competition seeks to highlight the Mekong Delta’s unique role as Vietnam ’s “rice bowl” as well as the significant effect on the climate caused by intensive farming, large-scale water control systems and rapid expansion of aquaculture.
The competition is one of a series on events for German Year in Vietnam , marking the 35 th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The online competition is open to all Vietnamese nationals from 16 years of age. Entries can be uploaded to the official website at www.mekong-photocontest.com .
The deadline for submissions is September 15. The awards ceremony and an exhibition of the best photos will take place on October 12-13./.
