A seminar on the implementation of Vietnam’s national strategy on green growth was held in Central Da Nang city on April 26 with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the National Assembly’s Science and Technology Committee and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

At the event, delegates were introduced the main advantages of green growth, in particular its contribution to the restructuring of the national economy. They were also updated with research results on improving energy efficiency.

Vietnam is implementing its 2011-2015 socio-economic development plan and socio-economic development strategy for 2011-2020 period. The country has recognised that green growth is necessary to realise its sustainable development goals and increase growth quality.

The national strategy on green growth was approved by the Prime Minister last year.-VNA
