The Health Ministry has confirmed two new deaths from A/H1N1 flu, raising fatalities due to the super flu in Vietnam to nine.

According to the Preventive Medicine and Environment Department, both patients, a 46-year-old woman from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, and a 42 year old man from the southern province of Binh Phuoc, suffered from heart disease.

As of 5pm on Sept. 21, Vietnam has confirmed 7,156 cases of H1N1 with an additional 198 patients reported the same day, according to the Ministry of Health.

As the epidemic is spreading every day, the Health Ministry warned people to be proactive in taking care of their health, saying that the community as a whole should take strict preventive measures.

High-risk groups, who suffer chronic diseases, such as heart disease, asthma, pneumonia, diabetes, obesity and AIDS, as well as pregnant women, children and old people, need to pay special attention to their health.

They should also avoid contact with those suspected of having the H1N1 flu. In the event symptoms of the disease occur, such persons should go directly to health clinics for timely treatment in order to limit serious complications and possible death./.
