Border guards of the northernmost province of Ha Giang received 54 trafficked women and children from Chinese authorities on July 30.

The victims, aged between 16 and 28 and mainly hailing primarily from northern mountainous Vietnamese provinces, were sold to China for sexual exploitation and forced labor.

They were then liberated during rescue operations made by Vietnamese border guards in collaboration with the Chinese authorities.

The trafficked victims will be returned to their hometowns soon./.
