Ha Giang’s senior leader expelled from Party

Nguyen Truong To, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Ha Giang province, has been expelled from the Party for his violations.
Nguyen Truong To, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee andChairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Ha Giang province, hasbeen expelled from the Party for his violations.

The Executive Committee of the provincial Party Committtee convened anextraordinary meeting on July 25 to announce a decision regarding thedisciplinary measure, which was issued by the Party Central Committee’sSecretariat on July 19.

Politburo member andpermanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong TanSang and Secretary of the provincial Ha Giang Party Committee HoangMinh Nhat co-chaired the meeting.

According to thedecision, To was expelled from the Communist Party of Vietnam for his‘very serious’ violations in terms of morality and lifestyle that causeddiscontent in the Party and society.

Also onJuly 25, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung requested the Ha Giang People’sCouncil to dismiss To from his People’s Council membership and thechairmanship of the provincial People’s Committee.

Four days earlier, the Prime Minister also signed a decision to suspendTo from the post of Chairman of the Ha Giang People’s Committee./.
