Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay on Aug. 18 advanced from the 12 th to the fourth place among the top 28 nominees at the third stage of a campaign voting for the world’s seven new natural wonders.

The daily Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Sai Gon) cited the Ha Long Bay management board as saying that Iguaru Falls of Argentina and Brazil leads the voting, followed by the Great Barrier Reef of Australia and Papua New Guinea and Komodo of Indonesia.

The final voting stage will take place between 2010 and 2011. During this time, the New 7Wonders World Tour will visit all 21 sites. The New7Wonders of Nature will be unveiled in the summer of 2011.
