Voters for National Assembly deputies in Loc Ha district, the central province of Ha Tinh have called for more assistance in offshore fishing and rural development as they met NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung in the locality on April 28.

In the appeal, they said local fishermen need support in fishing equipment and insurance.

More incentives should also be given to local officials in charge of overseeing new-style rural development - the programme that is in progress in 13 communes, with Thach Bang chosen as a model for this year.

After three years of launching the scheme, Thach Bang has so far met 9 out of the 19 national criteria for new productive rural community. To meet all the requirements this year, it will come up with sustainable means to reduce poverty, including joint ventures with small and medium-sized enterprises.

Voters also took the occasion to ask for drastic crackdown on corruption and more job offers for university graduates.

Showing regard for voters’ lives, Chairman Hung hailed the district’s success in building high-yield aquaculture areas.

He directed the provincial authorities to help farmers in infrastructure, plant protection chemical, marketing and epidemic control.

The Chairman informed them that the NA’s seventh session opening in mid-May will focus on putting the Constitution into practice.

The legislature is improving its operation, in particular the law-making and supervision, he said.

In afternoon the same day, Hung inspected the construction of several key buildings in Vung Ang economic zone in Ky Anh district, during which he assured investors that industrial and economic zones across the nation will be helped to clear their bottlenecks in the coming time.-VNA
