The People’s Procuracy of northern Hai Phong city on January 4 announce a decision to prosecute several people involved in coercive land reclamation in Vinh Quang commune, Tien Lang district, on the charge of murder and resisting on-duty officers.
Doan Van Vuon, 50, and Doan Van Quy, 47, in Vinh Quang commune, Doan Van Sinh, 56, in Tien Lang’s Dong Hung commune, and Doan Van Ve, 39, in Tien Lang’s Bach Dang commune were prosecuted for murder under Point D, Clause 1, Article 93 of the Penal Code.
Pham Thi Bau, 31, Quy’s wife, and Nguyen Thi Thuong, 43, Vuon’s wife, were prosecuted for resisting on-duty officers under Point D, Clause 2, Article 257 of the Penal Code.
According to the indictment of the municipal People’s Procuracy, Bau and Thuong face an imprisonment of between two and seven years.
Two others, Doan Van Thoai and Pham Thai, who fled after committing crime, have been put on the wanted list and will face charge when they are arrested.
On January 5, 2012 , farmer Vuon and his family opposed the order on land revocation and used self-made mines and guns to injure five people, including policemen.-VNA
