Speaking at theevent, Le Thi Kim Oanh, deputy head of the National Steering Committeefor the campaign said along with raising consumer awareness of usingVietnamese goods, the committee also urged firms to get involved inorder to expand their share in the domestic market.
Morebusinesses have organised fairs and mobile selling sessions to bringtheir goods to remote areas, especially mountainous and rural areas,as part of efforts to further promote the consumption of domestic goods.
A total of 38 fairs and 526 mobile selling sessions wereorganised in 13 mountainous communes in Hanoi’s four suburban districtsin 2013, compared to only 20 mobile selling sessions held in 2009, thefirst year the campaign was launched.
This year, about 34fairs and 500 mobile selling sessions will be held in Hanoi to serve theincreasing demand of local customers.
In recent years,the Hanoi authorities have taken measures to encourage local businessesto join the programme, such as requiring public administrative agenciesto buy domestic goods.
During 2010-2013, the city earmarked 1.5trillion VND (72.8 million USD) with an interest rate of 0 percent for57 enterprises and manufacturers participating in the price stabilizingprogramme which sell essential goods at reasonable prices.
Themunicipal authorities also promptly addressed difficulties facingenterprises in terms of land, administrative procedures and markets,while assisting them in building trademarks.-VNA
