Hanoi Dragon Dance Festival 2019 brings joy to capital
The Hanoi Dragon Dance Festival 2019 has taken place in the capital city to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day, Oct 10.
15 teams from districts of Hanoi, including HoanKiem, Ba Dinh and Hai Ba Trung among others participated in the festival, the fifth of its kind.
Each team competed with an independent performance of dragons or four celestial animals including tortoise, lion, phoenix, and dragon.
All the performances showed off the beauty and quintessence of the street folk art to public, hence, contributing to raising people’s awareness on preserving and respecting the nation’s cultural values which have been kept through generations.
The dragon dance team from Bac Tu Liem district won first prize. After the competition, the dragon dance teams paraded around the pedestrian zone of Hoan Kiem lake./.
