Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi always treasures and wants to boost its friendship with China’s Beijing city, a leading official of the Vietnamese capital city has affirmed.

The statement was made by Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang on June 24 when receiving Vice President of the Beijing chapter of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Luming.

Speaking highly of effective cooperation between the CPPCC – Beijing chapter and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) – Hanoi chapter, Hang stressed the important role of the two organisations in the capital cities’ political affairs.

She asserted that Hanoi leaders always support the strengthening of collaboration between the two organisations, thus helping raise the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

For his part, Yu suggested both sides promote their roles as the models in intensifying connectivity between the two countries’ localities, expand cooperation intensively and extensively, and step up people-to-people exchanges.

Earlier in the morning of the same day, Yu held talks with President of the VFF – Hanoi chapter Nguyen Lan Duong, during which they agreed to intensify bilateral cooperation and share experience in implementing organizational apparatus and operation mechanisms.

In the evening, an art performance was held to celebrate 25 years of Hanoi-Beijing relations.-VNA
