Hanoi Gift Show 2019 to welcome over 1,000 importers

The annual Hanoi Gift Show 2019, the eighth of its kind, is expected to welcome 1,000 handicraft importers and over 10,000 visitors, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Hai told a press conference on October 11.

Hanoi (VNA) – The annual Hanoi Gift Show 2019, the eighth of its kind, isexpected to welcome 1,000 handicraft importers and over 10,000 visitors, DeputyDirector of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Haitold a press conference on October 11.

Haisaid the event, scheduled for October 17-20, will feature 650 stalls bydomestic and foreign handicraft makers.

It will also include a zone for display of products madewith artistic creativity, exquisite design and superb workmanship.

HoangMinh Lam, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Centre for Industrial Promotion andIndustry Development Consultancy, said an international seminar discussing thesustainable development of handicrafts on the back of the Comprehensive andProgressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will also be held,attracting domestic and foreign speakers.

The“Match and Meet” event will draw 1,000 handicraft importers and suppliers,connecting together to negotiate contracts.

According to Nguyen Thi Luong, Director of the Hien LuongBamboo & Rattan Export Co., Ltd, the show gives the exhibitors access tomany new customers, explore the market’s new trends and learn from others’experience in improving management and bringing products to the world market./.

Vietnam targets 4.5 billion USD in cashew exports for 2025

Figures from the first six months show cashew exports reached 346,800 tonnes, earning 2.36 billion USD, a drop of 2.7% in volume but a surge of 20.4% in value annually. The rise was largely attributed to a significant increase in export prices, which helped offset lower shipment volumes.
