Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Douangchay Phichith on December 12 highly appreciated a working visit by a delegation of the Hanoi Capital High Command as a manifestation of the special sentiment between Vietnam and Laos.

Deputy PM and Minister of Defence Douangchay Phichith made the remarks at a reception in Vientiane given to Commander, Lieut. Gen. Phi Quoc Tuan, who led the delegation to the country from December 11-15 as the Laos People’s Army is celebrating its 65th Founding Anniversary.

He called for the two countries’ armies and people to take responsibilities for upholding the Vietnam-Laos special relationship that had been nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane over the past time.

At the event, the Commander of the Hanoi Capital High Command briefed his host on the outcomes of talks with the Vientiane High Command and expressed his delight at the two commands’ fine partnership.

He said he hopes the two sides will continue exchanging visits, sharing information and providing training to build more and more powerful armed forces, thus contributing to the construction and development of each country’s capital.-VNA
